AI SEO agency · AEO and GEO · Australia
An AI SEO agency that gets your business cited, not just ranked.
Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google's AI Overviews who to hire, and the answer names a handful of businesses. Answer engine optimisation, also called GEO or AI SEO, is the work of being one of them: clear facts about who you are, structured data that matches them, and pages worth quoting. We run it alongside SEO and score it on qualified enquiries, not rankings.

Context
Why AI search needs its own work, and why it still starts with SEO.
In an October 2026 check of 66 Australian commercial searches, Google showed an AI Overview on 46. The most-cited sources were YouTube, with 27 citations, and Google's own pages, with 25. Agency sites came after. For a lot of buyers, that answer is now the first thing they read, and only a few businesses get named in it.
Google says no special file or schema is needed to appear in AI Overviews: a page has to be indexed and eligible to show in Search with a snippet. OpenAI says sites that block its search crawler, OAI-SearchBot, are not shown in ChatGPT's search answers, and Perplexity recommends allowing PerplexityBot so a site can appear in its results. So the foundation is ordinary SEO done properly. What AEO adds is clarity: one consistent set of facts about your business across your site, your profiles and your structured data, and pages that answer buyer questions plainly enough to be quoted.
It is measured like everything else we do. Visits from ChatGPT and Perplexity show up in GA4 as traffic from chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai, and we follow them through to enquiries. Google counts AI Overview clicks inside ordinary search traffic in Search Console, so that part is read from the wider search numbers rather than claimed.
Deliverables
What an AI SEO engagement covers.
01
An entity audit: your business name, ABN, locations, services and people checked for consistency across your site, your Google Business Profile, and the profiles and directories that describe you.
02
Structured data that states the same facts in machine-readable form: schema.org markup for the business, its services, its people and its FAQs, validated and kept in step with the visible page.
03
Source pages written to be quoted: direct answers to the questions buyers ask, with cost, process and fit explained plainly and every claim backed.
04
A crawler check for each engine's search bot, kept separate from its training bot, so a decision to block AI training does not quietly remove you from AI answers.
05
The SEO foundations underneath: indexing, site structure and internal links, because AI Overviews draw on pages Google can index and show.
06
Reporting on AI referrals from ChatGPT and Perplexity in GA4, followed through to enquiries and shown beside organic search.
Services
The AI SEO services we run, part by part.
AEO services, GEO and AI SEO are three names for one job. These are its parts, each judged on enquiries rather than a visibility score.
Entity clarity
One consistent description of your business, its services and its people, wherever an AI engine might look you up.
Structured data
Schema.org markup for your organisation, services, people and FAQs that matches the visible page.
Source content
Pages that answer buyer questions directly and specifically enough for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews to cite.
Crawler access
Robots rules checked for OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot and Googlebot, with training crawlers treated as a separate decision.
Technical SEO
Indexing, site structure and internal links: the foundations Google's AI features depend on.
AI referral reporting
Traffic from chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai tracked in GA4 and followed through to enquiries.
We write the pages that answer buyer questions. Ongoing day-to-day content, such as organic social posts, stays with your team or a specialist we recommend.
Side by side
How we differ from the typical AI SEO agency.
Typical AI SEO pitch
- AI tools turning out articles at volume
- Visibility scores from a tracking dashboard
- llms.txt sold as a ranking trick
- AEO pitched as a replacement for SEO
- Nothing tied to enquiries or revenue
Profit Geeks
- Fewer, specific pages worth quoting
- Enquiries from AI referrals, tracked in GA4
- llms.txt published and described honestly
- AEO built on sound SEO
- Scored on qualified enquiries
Who this is for
- Australian business doing $2M to $20M that wins work from people researching who to hire
- Has solid service pages, or is willing to build them
- Wants to know whether AI search sends enquiries, not just mentions
- Sees competitors named in ChatGPT or AI Overview answers and wants to know why
Who it isn't
- Wants hundreds of AI-written articles a month
- Expects a guaranteed mention in ChatGPT (nobody can honestly promise one)
- Has a site Google cannot index properly and no budget to fix it
- Wants a rankings report rather than enquiry numbers
Proof, in numbers
What we found when we checked Australian searches.
Our own check of 66 Australian commercial searches in October 2026. It is a snapshot: AI answers change often, and a different set of searches would give different counts.

What you actually buy
We fix the measurement, then we run the account. It starts with a free call.
Which of these sounds like your week?
- Meta says one number, Google says another, the CRM says a third, and the bank says something else again.
- The leads come in and most of them are rubbish.
- Traffic is fine. Not enough of them buy.
- You cannot spend more without losing margin.
- Something is wrong and you cannot say what.
All five are the same job. We fix the measurement first, then the same senior operators run the spend against it. The free call is where we work out which part you need first.
00 · Free
Run your own numbers
Six calculators and an attribution reference. Work out your break-even ROAS, your CAC payback, and whether the spend is structurally profitable, before you talk to anyone. The calculators need no signup.
01 · Free · 30 minutes
The profit audit call
A senior operator looks at your real spend, revenue and attribution gap on a call. You leave with a written fix list you keep, whether or not we ever work together. No deck, no follow-up sales sequence. We reply within one business day with three times to choose from.
02 · Optional · Two weeks
The two-week diagnostic
Read-only. We change nothing in your accounts. Every tag, event and consent rule mapped and written up: 20 to 35 pages, every issue rated P0 to P3 with an engineering-day estimate, and a 90-minute walk-through on day twelve. Yours to hand to us, your own team, or your existing agency. About a third of clients run this first, then decide.
03 · The engagement · Ongoing
The rebuild, then we run it
The first twelve weeks rebuild the measurement server-side so the reports reconcile to the bank, and work the funnel where the leak actually is. From there the same senior operators keep running Google Ads, Meta and search, with budget, bids and creative decided weekly against contribution margin and the reasoning written down. If your measurement is already sound, management starts straight away.
What it costs
Four things set the number
- The size of your stack
- How many ad platforms are live
- The state of your CRM integration
- How many service lines and locations you run
Two things do not
- Your industry
- How much you spend on ads
Revenue only matters because a bigger business is usually a bigger scope. We do not price off a percentage of it. We charge for the work, not for what you look like you can afford.
How it is billedThe rebuild is fixed scope, paid in instalments. Ongoing management is a fixed fee for the agreed scope. Both are quoted in one written proposal after the call. No hourly billing and no percentage of ad spend.
Included at no extra costThe written playbook and decision log, yours to keep whether we run the account or your team takes it in-house.
Where to go next
The rest of the work, by service and by city.
Most engagements pull from more than one of these. If you're not sure where you fit, the free profit audit is the right starting point. We'll tell you on the call.

Proof, with the working shown
We'd rather show you the maths than the buzzwords.
“Profit Geeks rebuilt our whole sales engine, and not just the ad accounts. They went after the systems sitting behind them too. Sales are up 140% and we've pushed past $25M. Honestly the bit I didn't see coming was the operation running leaner than it did back when we were half the size.”
“We were quietly bleeding about a thousand dollars a week and had no idea why. They found the leaks, sorted out the measurement and the offer, and now we'll do more than $10K in a single day. Same product. Completely different business.”
“We went from scraping together two installs a week to running four crews and fifteen-plus jobs a week, north of $10M turnover. The clever bit was they tied the scaling to what we could actually deliver, so growth never broke the operation. Booked jobs, not vanity leads.”
“After iOS, our Meta numbers stopped matching the bank, and we'd basically been writing the gap off as “just tracking.” Profit Geeks rebuilt our measurement server-side and reconciled it straight back to the P&L. Turned out about $1.42M of ad spend in year one had been working all along. They're the first team that showed me the maths instead of a dashboard.”
“We didn’t spend a dollar more on ads. What they did was fix how we counted a booked job versus a platform “conversion,” cut the wasted spend, and by week twelve our blended ROAS had more than tripled. Revenue went from $4.8M to $9.1M. Same senior bloke on every call too. No juniors, no relay race.”
Reasonable questions
What you're probably thinking.
01
We've been burned by an agency before.
Most of our intake has. The difference is structural. A senior operator runs your account, not a junior hidden behind a dashboard, and you leave the first call with written findings you own even if we never work together. No relay race, no account manager translating between you and the people doing the work.
02
How do I know it'll actually work for my business?
You don't yet, and neither do we until we've seen your numbers. That's why the first step is a diagnostic, not a contract. We've documented this in DTC and home services (the case studies show the full working) and run the same playbook in professional services. If the maths isn't there for you, we'll tell you on the call.
03
What if there's nothing worth fixing?
Then you've spent thirty minutes and walked away with a second opinion that cost you nothing. We'd rather say no than take on an engagement we can't earn, so we turn away intake that isn't a fit. There's no pitch and no follow-up sales sequence.
04
What does it cost, and what am I signing up for?
A fixed fee for the measurement rebuild, then a fixed fee for ongoing management, both quoted in writing after the call. No per-channel markup and no percentage of your ad spend. The same senior operators handle measurement, media and margin, and scaling is tied to your contribution margin, so spend only climbs when the numbers say it's working.
Frequently asked
What operators ask before booking the call.
What is an AI SEO agency?
The label covers two different things. Some agencies use AI tools to produce SEO content faster. Others, like us, optimise for AI search itself, so ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google's AI Overviews can find, understand and cite your business when a buyer asks who to hire. Ask which one you are talking to, because the work and the results are not the same.
How much does AI SEO cost?
There is no standard price, so be wary of anyone who quotes one before looking at your site. The cost depends on how sound your SEO already is, how many services and locations need clear pages, and how much structured data is missing or wrong. The fee is fixed for the agreed scope and quoted in writing after the free audit call. Our cost guide covers the fee models Australian agencies use and the red flags to watch for, and they apply to search work as much as to ads.
How Australian agencies price their feesIs SEO still worth it with AI?
Yes, because AI search is built on it. Google says a page has to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet before it can appear as a link in AI Overviews, and our October 2026 check found AI Overviews on 46 of 66 Australian commercial searches. What has changed is what wins. A page that ranks but answers nothing plainly gives an AI engine nothing to quote.
Can ChatGPT do SEO?
It can help with parts of it: drafting outlines, grouping keywords, suggesting markup, tidying a muddled paragraph. It cannot decide what your business should be known for, check that your facts match across the web, or earn the citations that get you named. Is there an AI that does SEO on its own? Not one we would trust with a site that brings in revenue. Use it as a tool in the hands of someone who knows the business.
What is the difference between AEO, GEO and AI SEO?
Mostly the label. Answer engine optimisation (AEO), generative engine optimisation (GEO) and AI SEO all describe making a business easy for AI search to find, understand and cite. A GEO agency and an AEO agency are selling the same work, so judge them on method and measurement rather than the acronym.
How do you measure results from AI search?
Through enquiries, the same as any other channel. ChatGPT and Perplexity send visits that GA4 records as traffic from chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai, and ChatGPT tags its links with utm_source=chatgpt.com. We group those visits into their own channel and follow them through to forms, calls and bookings. Search Console counts AI Overview clicks inside normal Google search traffic, so we do not pretend to split them out.
Is AI replacing SEO?
Not on the evidence we can see. AI answers are assembled from pages the engines can crawl, so the work of being crawlable, clear and worth citing has moved up the page rather than disappeared. Nobody can tell you what search will look like in five years. Our bet, and the way we work, is that a clear, specific, checkable source keeps getting used.
Do I need an llms.txt file?
It will not hurt, and it is not a lever. llms.txt is a plain-text summary of a site for language models, proposed in September 2024. Google says you do not need AI text files or special markup to appear in its AI features. We publish one on our own site because it costs almost nothing, and we will not sell it to you as a ranking factor.
What happens after you book
Three steps. No mystery.
Step 01 · Within 1 business day
30-minute audit call
A senior operator on the call. We look at your real numbers, spend, revenue, attribution gap, and tell you on the call whether the rebuild is worth doing for you and where it would start. No pitch deck.
Step 02 · Within 1 week
Written proposal
Fixed scope, fixed number, written up. The proposal names deliverables, timeline, the people involved, and the price. No hourly billing, no retainer drift.
Step 03 · Within 2 weeks
Engagement starts
Senior operators from day one. The measurement rebuild starts, we take over day-to-day buying on the channels we can measure, and the first working session lands. Inside two weeks of the call.
Next step
Ask an AI engine who to hire, then bring us the answer.
Before the call, ask ChatGPT or Perplexity who you should hire for what you sell, in your city, and note who gets named. Then book the free 30-minute profit audit and bring the answers. A senior operator will walk through why those businesses get named and what it would take for yours to be, and the written findings are yours to keep.
