ServiceM8 vs Tradify vs simPRO for Tradie Marketing

For a trade business's marketing, the difference that matters is how easily a booked job and its value get back to Google Ads and Meta. On 1 October 2026, ServiceM8 offered a Zapier app, webhooks and an API; simPRO a documented API, webhooks and a Zapier app; Tradify documented CSV exports, but we found no public API or Zapier app.

We connect all three for clients, and we are not a partner or affiliate of any of them. Prices and features below come from each vendor's own pages on 1 October 2026. For where job software fits in the wider plan, see our guide to marketing for tradies.

How do ServiceM8, Tradify and simPRO compare?

They are priced on different things: ServiceM8 by the number of jobs, Tradify by the number of users, and simPRO by quote. They also differ in how much job data you can get out of them without a developer.

Why does your job software decide what your ads learn?

Because Google Ads and Meta optimise toward whatever you report as a conversion, and only your job software knows which enquiries became paid work. Report form fills or taps on a phone number and the platforms find more of those; report booked jobs with their value and they look for more of those instead.

The gap can be large. In our Sydney home services case study, Meta's pixel counted 412 conversions in 30 days while the business's own records showed 22 booked jobs. Getting the booking back to the ad needs two things: an identifier captured with the enquiry, such as Google's click ID or the customer's email and phone for enhanced conversions for leads, and a way to send the outcome to Google Ads or Meta later. Google Ads accepts an imported conversion up to 90 days after the click, and Google recommends including click IDs wherever you can.

Which job management software can send booked jobs and job values to Google Ads?

All of them can, with different amounts of work. The difference is whether the software can push an event when a job is booked or completed, or whether someone has to export a file.

ServiceM8

The quickest of the three to connect without a developer. ServiceM8's Zapier app has triggers for a new job, a job completed and a new client, and Zapier lists a ready-made workflow that sends an offline conversion to Google Ads for a new ServiceM8 job. For more control, ServiceM8's webhooks report changes to jobs, job payments and other records; the webhook says which field changed, and the API returns the new values.

simPRO

The most open of the three for a developer. simPRO publishes a REST API that uses OAuth2, with every call documented, and supports webhook subscriptions; its API team names customer invoices and customer payments among them. Zapier also lists a simPRO app with triggers for a new job, a new quote and a job update. That suits businesses that want to send several stages, such as a quote accepted and an invoice raised, each with its value.

Tradify

The most manual of the three for marketing data. Tradify's help centre documents CSV exports of enquiries, quotes, jobs and invoices, and Tradify syncs invoices with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online, but we found no public API or Zapier app on its site or in its help centre. Booked jobs can still reach Google Ads: export them, match them to the click IDs captured at enquiry, and upload the file, which Google Ads can import on a schedule from Google Sheets. The invoices that Tradify syncs to your accounting software are another source of job values.

Fergus

Often compared with Tradify. Fergus publishes a REST API, documented in an OpenAPI specification, with endpoints for jobs, quotes and customer invoices, so job values can be pulled programmatically. Its Australian pricing page listed Essentials from $53 and Professional from $77 a month, with a limited offer of 90% off until December, monthly billing and no lock-in contract.

Is ServiceM8 any good?

For small and mid-sized service trades, yes, on two counts that matter here. It prices by jobs rather than users, which suits a crew that is growing, and its add-on directory, Zapier included, makes it one of the easier tools to connect to your ads. Watch the job allowance: plans run from 30 new jobs a month on Free to 1,500 or more on Premium Plus, so a busy business moves up the plans as it grows.

Is Tradify or ServiceM8 better?

It depends on your crew size and how connected you want your ads to be. Tradify charges per user and ServiceM8 per job, so the same business can pay very different amounts. The table works three examples from the published prices, including GST, before add-ons, SMS and card fees.

Example businessServiceM8 planServiceM8 a monthTradify Pro a month
2 users, 40 new jobs a monthStarter (50 jobs)$29$114.40
5 users, 150 new jobs a monthGrowing (150 jobs)$79$286.00
10 users, 400 new jobs a monthPremium (500 jobs)$149$572.00

Source: Profit Geeks calculation from servicem8.com/au/pricing (prices include GST) and tradifyhq.com/au/pricing ($52 per user plus GST, so $57.20 including GST), 1 October 2026. We used Tradify Pro because it includes the enquiry form; Lite is $48 per user plus GST.

On price alone, ServiceM8 costs less for multi-user crews in these examples, but feature sets differ, so compare the plans you would actually need. For marketing, ServiceM8 is easier to connect to Google Ads, because its Zapier triggers and webhooks fire when a job is created or completed, while Tradify's jobs leave by export.

Which is better, Tradify or Fergus?

For connecting to your ads, Fergus, because it publishes an API covering jobs, quotes and invoices and Tradify does not. On price, both list monthly plans with no lock-in, so check Fergus's price once the discount ends and compare the totals for your crew. On features, trial both with your own jobs: each offers a 14-day free trial.

What is the best job management software in Australia?

The one that fits your crew and records every job's source and value. As a rule of thumb from the published pricing: a small crew doing many jobs suits per-job pricing like ServiceM8; a small crew doing fewer, larger jobs can suit per-user pricing like Tradify or Fergus; and simPRO pitches itself at businesses from five to 200 staff, including complex commercial work. Whichever you choose, check before you sign that booked jobs and their values can get out, by Zapier, webhook, API or a reliable export.

How do you connect any of them to Google Ads and Meta?

  1. Capture the click identifiers on every enquiry form: Google's click ID, Meta's click ID and the UTM source. Our UTM builder keeps the source tags consistent.
  2. Track calls with numbers that record the source, and log each call against its job. Our guide to call tracking covers the options.
  3. Store the identifiers on the customer or job record in your job software.
  4. Choose the stages to send: enquiry, quote accepted, job booked, and job completed with its value.
  5. Send them by Zapier, webhook, API or scheduled file: to Google Ads as offline conversions or enhanced conversions for leads, and to Meta through the Conversions API.
  6. Each month, check match rates and duplicates against the jobs in your software.
