Dental SEO · SEO for dentists · Australia
SEO for dentists, built around the treatments you want.
Patients look for a treatment and a suburb before they look for a practice name. Keyword Planner shows 74,000 searches a month in Australia for 'dentist', 22,200 for 'teeth whitening' and 2,900 for 'kids dentist' (October 2026). Dental SEO decides whether your practice is the one they find, on Google Maps, in the search listings and in AI-written answers, and whether the page they land on stays inside Ahpra's advertising rules. We build the treatment and location pages, look after the Google Business Profile and its reviews, and write the answers patients go looking for.

Monthly searches for 'dental clinic near me' in Australia, a search the map results answer first. Keyword Planner, October 2026.
13
Recognised dental specialties. Their titles, such as orthodontist and periodontist, are protected, so every page is checked against the list.
Section 133
No testimonials about treatment on the site or in posts. Comments about service, parking or staff are not testimonials.
How we run marketing for dental practices
Four principles for dental SEO.
Principle 01
A page for each treatment worth growing
A services page listing twenty treatments ranks for none of them. Implants, clear aligners, veneers, whitening, children's dentistry and emergency care each get a page that explains the treatment, who it suits, the risks and recovery, how fees are set and who provides it. These are the pages treatment searches land on, and the pages where Ahpra's rules bite hardest, so each one is drafted against them.
Principle 02
The map pack comes first
For 'dentist near me' and 'dental clinic near me', Google shows a map of nearby practices before the first organic result, and that map is filled from Google Business Profiles. What helps a practice there: the right primary category, a services list that names your treatments, opening hours that match the front desk, current photos of the rooms and the team, and new reviews arriving month after month. We set up a profile for every location patients can walk into, then keep it current.
Principle 03
Reviews stay where patients left them
Under Ahpra's guidelines, a review becomes a testimonial once it mentions a symptom, a treatment or a result, and testimonials cannot appear in a practice's advertising, which takes in its website and business social media. Reviews on Google can stay where patients posted them: Ahpra says you are not responsible for removing reviews on platforms you do not control, though it warns you to take care before engaging with them. Ask every patient, never suggest what to write, and you stay inside Google's review policy too.
Principle 04
Answers that AI search can cite
Patients ask how much implants cost, whether veneers damage teeth and how long aligners take. AI Overviews and assistants such as ChatGPT build their replies from pages that give a straight answer and show who stands behind it. Each answer we write names the dentist who reviewed it, puts risks next to benefits, and sits on a page whose structured data identifies the practice and its locations. That makes it a safe source to quote, and keeps it inside Ahpra's rules on evidence and expectations.
Deliverables
What dental SEO covers when we run it.
01
Treatment pages for the work you want more of, covering the procedure, suitability, risks and recovery, fee information and, where the 2025 cosmetic guidelines apply, the practitioner's registration details including their registration number.
02
Location pages only for places you have a practice, each matching the Google Business Profile for that location.
03
Google Business Profile management for each location: categories, services, hours, photos, posts, and a review request sent after the appointment without suggesting what to write.
04
A compliance pass on every page: testimonials removed, protected titles such as orthodontist and paediatric dentist used only for registered specialists, offers shown with their terms, and before-and-after images checked against Ahpra's guidelines.
05
Technical SEO: speed, mobile layout, indexing, duplicate pages, and structured data for the practice, its locations and its dentists.
06
Answer engine optimisation: the same practice details across directories and booking sites, profile pages for your dentists, and plain answers that AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity can cite.
07
Tracking from organic visit to booking: every call, online booking and form tied to the landing page it came from, then checked against kept appointments each month.
08
Ongoing work by senior operators, reviewed weekly, with a decision log the practice owns.
Who this is for
- Australian dental practice that wants more patients for particular treatments, not just more traffic
- One or more locations patients can visit, each with a Google Business Profile or ready for one
- A dentist who will review treatment content for clinical accuracy before it is published
- A practice that wants its pages comfortably inside Ahpra's rules, not near the edge of them
Who it isn't
- Wanting patient testimonials or 'smile stories' about treatment on the website
- Wanting 'specialist' or 'specialises in' wording without specialist registration
- Wanting location pages for suburbs the practice does not serve
- Expecting rankings in weeks. SEO is slower than ads, and nobody can promise positions.
How we work with dental practices
A fixed fee for dental SEO, set by your treatments and locations.
We do not publish a rate card. The free audit call is followed by one written proposal with a fixed fee, worked out from the job itself: the number of treatments and locations, the repairs the site needs and how competitive your suburbs are. Where SEO would not earn back its cost at the practice's current size, we tell you.
Optional · Two weeks
The two-week diagnostic
Read-only: your site, Google Business Profiles, visibility by treatment, the review flow and any Ahpra risk in current copy, written up and ranked. Yours whether or not we work together.
Step 01 · Setup
Pages, profiles and compliance
Treatment and location pages written and checked, every Google Business Profile corrected, technical faults repaired, structured data added and bookings tracked. Quoted as one fixed scope.
Step 02 · Ongoing
Ongoing dental SEO
New answer content each month, profiles kept current, review requests running, and bookings by treatment from organic search reported monthly, with the reasoning for each decision on file.
If the website is the bottleneck, we build dental websites too, quoted after the call and usually live two to three weeks after kickoff.

Run your numbers
Proof, with the working shown
We'd rather show you the maths than the buzzwords.
“Profit Geeks rebuilt our whole sales engine, and not just the ad accounts. They went after the systems sitting behind them too. Sales are up 140% and we've pushed past $25M. Honestly the bit I didn't see coming was the operation running leaner than it did back when we were half the size.”
“We were quietly bleeding about a thousand dollars a week and had no idea why. They found the leaks, sorted out the measurement and the offer, and now we'll do more than $10K in a single day. Same product. Completely different business.”
“We went from scraping together two installs a week to running four crews and fifteen-plus jobs a week, north of $10M turnover. The clever bit was they tied the scaling to what we could actually deliver, so growth never broke the operation. Booked jobs, not vanity leads.”
“After iOS, our Meta numbers stopped matching the bank, and we'd basically been writing the gap off as “just tracking.” Profit Geeks rebuilt our measurement server-side and reconciled it straight back to the P&L. Turned out about $1.42M of ad spend in year one had been working all along. They're the first team that showed me the maths instead of a dashboard.”
“We didn’t spend a dollar more on ads. What they did was fix how we counted a booked job versus a platform “conversion,” cut the wasted spend, and by week twelve our blended ROAS had more than tripled. Revenue went from $4.8M to $9.1M. Same senior bloke on every call too. No juniors, no relay race.”
Reasonable questions
What you're probably thinking.
01
We've been burned by an agency before.
Most of our intake has. The difference is structural. A senior operator runs your account, not a junior hidden behind a dashboard, and you leave the first call with written findings you own even if we never work together. No relay race, no account manager translating between you and the people doing the work.
02
How do I know it'll actually work for my business?
You don't yet, and neither do we until we've seen your numbers. That's why the first step is a diagnostic, not a contract. We've documented this in DTC and home services (the case studies show the full working) and run the same playbook in professional services. If the maths isn't there for you, we'll tell you on the call.
03
What if there's nothing worth fixing?
Then you've spent thirty minutes and walked away with a second opinion that cost you nothing. We'd rather say no than take on an engagement we can't earn, so we turn away intake that isn't a fit. There's no pitch and no follow-up sales sequence.
04
What does it cost, and what am I signing up for?
A fixed fee for the measurement rebuild, then a fixed fee for ongoing management, both quoted in writing after the call. No per-channel markup and no percentage of your ad spend. The same senior operators handle measurement, media and margin, and scaling is tied to your contribution margin, so spend only climbs when the numbers say it's working.
Frequently asked
Questions practices ask about dental SEO.
What is SEO in dentistry?
Dental SEO (search engine optimisation) means making a practice findable when people nearby look for a dentist or a particular treatment, whether on Google Maps, in the standard results or in an AI-written answer. The work covers treatment and location pages, the Google Business Profile and its reviews, a fast and error-free site, and content that answers the questions patients actually ask. In Australia it must also follow Ahpra's advertising rules, because Ahpra counts websites and social media as advertising.
How much does dental SEO cost?
There is no single figure, because the price follows the job: how many treatments and locations you want to rank for, how much of the site needs work and how hard your suburbs are to win. Be wary of a one-size package that ignores all three. SEO is commonly billed monthly; ours is a fixed fee for a scope agreed in writing after a free audit call, and if the numbers say SEO will not pay off at your size, you will hear that from us first.
How SEO is priced in AustraliaWhat is local SEO for dentists?
Local SEO is the slice of dental SEO that decides whether the practice turns up on the map for searches such as 'dentist near me' (135,000 a month in Australia) or 'dental clinic near me' (18,100). The groundwork is a complete Google Business Profile for every location, identical practice details on every directory and booking site, a steady stream of genuine reviews, and a location page on the website that mirrors the profile.
Can dentists use patient testimonials on their website?
Not about treatment. The National Law (section 133) prohibits testimonials in advertising for a regulated health service, and Ahpra's definition covers positive statements about the clinical side of care: the symptom, the treatment or the outcome. Your practice website counts as advertising. Praise for customer service or communication that does not touch on clinical aspects is not a testimonial, and Ahpra's testimonial tool helps with the borderline cases.
Ahpra's rules for dental marketingCan we ask patients for Google reviews?
Google allows it, provided you ask without incentives, do not ask only the patients you expect to be happy, and do not suggest what they should write or pressure them to post while they are at the practice. Ahpra's guidelines do not stop patients posting reviews on platforms you do not control, and you are not responsible for removing them. Take care before engaging with them, though: quoting a review about treatment on your own site turns it into a testimonial.
Can we show before-and-after photos on treatment pages?
With care, and under stricter rules for veneers. Ahpra's general guidelines say these images are less likely to mislead when the two shots match in angle, lighting, framing, posture and make-up, any changes to the photos are disclosed, and nothing but the treatment differs between them. Veneers are listed in the 2025 guidelines for higher risk non-surgical cosmetic procedures, which go further: real photos of that practitioner's own patients, no editing or filters, the 'before' shot or a side-by-side shown first, the time since treatment stated, a prominent warning that results vary, nobody under 18, and separate, documented consent from the patient.
Before-and-after rules in fullCan we say a dentist 'specialises in' implants?
Not unless they hold specialist registration in that area. Ahpra says 'specialises in', along with 'specialist', 'specialty' and 'specialised', suggests specialist registration, and points to wording like 'substantial experience in' or 'working primarily in' instead. There is no recognised specialty of implant dentistry among the 13 dental specialties, so 'implant specialist' is risky wording for anyone, and a general dentist should describe their experience rather than claim a specialty.
How do dental practices show up in AI answers?
By being a clear, consistent and citable source. Keep the practice name, address and phone number identical across the site, the Google Business Profile and directories; give each dentist a profile page with their registration; answer common questions plainly, with risks alongside benefits; and describe the practice and its locations in structured data. Nobody can guarantee a citation, but this makes the practice easy to describe accurately.

What you actually buy
We fix the measurement, then we run the account. It starts with a free call.
Which of these sounds like your week?
- Meta says one number, Google says another, the CRM says a third, and the bank says something else again.
- The leads come in and most of them are rubbish.
- Traffic is fine. Not enough of them buy.
- You cannot spend more without losing margin.
- Something is wrong and you cannot say what.
All five are the same job. We fix the measurement first, then the same senior operators run the spend against it. The free call is where we work out which part you need first.
00 · Free
Run your own numbers
Six calculators and an attribution reference. Work out your break-even ROAS, your CAC payback, and whether the spend is structurally profitable, before you talk to anyone. The calculators need no signup.
01 · Free · 30 minutes
The profit audit call
A senior operator looks at your real spend, revenue and attribution gap on a call. You leave with a written fix list you keep, whether or not we ever work together. No deck, no follow-up sales sequence. We reply within one business day with three times to choose from.
02 · Optional · Two weeks
The two-week diagnostic
Read-only. We change nothing in your accounts. Every tag, event and consent rule mapped and written up: 20 to 35 pages, every issue rated P0 to P3 with an engineering-day estimate, and a 90-minute walk-through on day twelve. Yours to hand to us, your own team, or your existing agency. About a third of clients run this first, then decide.
03 · The engagement · Ongoing
The rebuild, then we run it
The first twelve weeks rebuild the measurement server-side so the reports reconcile to the bank, and work the funnel where the leak actually is. From there the same senior operators keep running Google Ads, Meta and search, with budget, bids and creative decided weekly against contribution margin and the reasoning written down. If your measurement is already sound, management starts straight away.
What it costs
Four things set the number
- The size of your stack
- How many ad platforms are live
- The state of your CRM integration
- How many service lines and locations you run
Two things do not
- Your industry
- How much you spend on ads
Revenue only matters because a bigger business is usually a bigger scope. We do not price off a percentage of it. We charge for the work, not for what you look like you can afford.
How it is billedThe rebuild is fixed scope, paid in instalments. Ongoing management is a fixed fee for the agreed scope. Both are quoted in one written proposal after the call. No hourly billing and no percentage of ad spend.
Included at no extra costThe written playbook and decision log, yours to keep whether we run the account or your team takes it in-house.
What happens after you book
Three steps. No mystery.
Step 01 · Within 1 business day
30-minute audit call
A senior operator on the call. We look at your real numbers, spend, revenue, attribution gap, and tell you on the call whether the rebuild is worth doing for you and where it would start. No pitch deck.
Step 02 · Within 1 week
Written proposal
Fixed scope, fixed number, written up. The proposal names deliverables, timeline, the people involved, and the price. No hourly billing, no retainer drift.
Step 03 · Within 2 weeks
Engagement starts
Senior operators from day one. The measurement rebuild starts, we take over day-to-day buying on the channels we can measure, and the first working session lands. Inside two weeks of the call.
Next step
See where the practice shows up today, and where it should.
Book a free 30-minute profit audit. Bring your website address, the treatments you want more of and your locations. A senior operator will show you how the practice appears on the map and for each treatment, which pages carry Ahpra risk, and what we would fix first. The findings come to you in writing, and they are yours.
