Dental Google Ads · PPC for dentists · Australia
Dental Google Ads, built treatment by treatment.
Keyword Planner shows 135,000 searches a month in Australia for 'dentist near me', 18,100 for 'veneers' and 9,900 for 'dental implants', with top-of-page bids for those terms between about $4 and $21 a click (October 2026). What costs a practice money is rarely the click. It is one campaign that counts a check-up booking and an implant consult as the same result. We run PPC for dentists by treatment, with call assets on front-desk hours, a radius drawn from where patients really come from, and every ad checked against Ahpra's advertising guidelines.

How we run marketing for dental practices
Four principles for a dental Google Ads account.
Principle 01
Each treatment runs on its own budget
Implants, clear aligners, veneers, emergency care and check-ups are different searches from different patients, worth very different amounts to the practice. Keyword Planner puts 'all on 4 dental implants' at $7 to $30 a click and 'teeth whitening' at $3 to $10 (October 2026). Give each treatment its own campaign, landing page and value per kept appointment, and the bidding can pay properly for an implant consult instead of averaging it with a clean.
Principle 02
Call assets that keep front-desk hours
Most new patients still ring. Call assets can be scheduled to show only on the days and hours you choose, so we set them to when the front desk answers. Call reporting, which runs on Google forwarding numbers, then logs how long each call lasted and whether anyone picked up. A run of missed calls late on weekdays is a finding in itself: it tells you whether to extend hours or move budget.
Principle 03
A radius drawn from real patients
Patients travel further for implants or aligners than for a check-up. We use the postcode spread of your existing patients, as counts rather than anyone's details, to set a tight radius for general and emergency care and a wider one for high-value treatments, and target people located in those areas rather than people who have merely shown interest in them.
Principle 04
Ad copy inside section 133
Health advertising cannot use testimonials, must state the terms of any offer, and must not create unreasonable expectations or encourage unnecessary treatment. In a dental account that means no patient comments about treatment, terms beside every price, no 'pain-free' or 'risk-free' claims without the risks alongside, and no general dentist presented as an orthodontist, a protected specialist title. Veneers also fall under Ahpra's 2025 guidelines for higher risk non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
Deliverables
What we set up and run in a practice's Google Ads account.
01
Campaigns split by treatment line (implants, aligners and orthodontic work, veneers and whitening, emergency, general and children's care), each with its own budget, keywords, landing page and value per kept appointment.
02
Call assets and location assets scheduled to front-desk hours, with call reporting on Google forwarding numbers and an agreed minimum call length before a call counts as a conversion.
03
The practice phone number set up to clear Google's verification: printed as text on the landing page, written in E.164 format in the page code where possible, or backed by a domain verified in Search Console, so call assets stay approved.
04
Location targeting built from patient postcodes, with a tight radius for check-ups and emergencies, a wider one for implants and aligners, and exclusions where you do not want to draw patients from.
05
Ad copy and landing pages written to section 133 of the National Law and Ahpra's guidelines, with protected titles, offers and before-and-after images checked, and signed off by the practice before launch.
06
Bookings and attendance imported from the practice software you book in, so Google learns which searches turn into patients in the chair.
07
Search terms reviewed weekly against a negative list built for dentistry: job and course searches, 'bulk billing dentist' (2,400 searches a month) if you do not bulk bill, and do-it-yourself whitening.
08
A monthly report by treatment: spend, calls, bookings and cost per kept appointment, with each change and the reason for it written into a log the practice keeps.
Who this is for
- Australian dental practice with chair time to fill in at least one treatment line
- Reception staff who pick up while the ads are live, or cover arranged for those hours
- Practice software that records bookings and attendance
- A principal dentist who will sign off ad copy and keep images and offers inside Ahpra's rules
Who it isn't
- Wanting patient testimonials or star ratings about treatment in the ads
- Wanting a general dentist advertised as an orthodontist or a 'specialist'
- Spending too little to give a treatment campaign enough clicks to judge. We will say so on the call.
- No spare chair time in the coming months. More ads will not help until there is room in the book.
How we work with dental practices
One fixed fee for the account. Not a cut of the clicks.
Nothing here has a published price. Following the free audit call, one written proposal quotes the setup and the ongoing management, each as a fixed fee for the agreed scope and never a percentage of your Google spend. If bookings are already tracked properly, management can start straight away.
Optional · Two weeks
The two-week diagnostic
A read-only review of the Google Ads account, call handling, landing pages and how bookings are recorded. Written up with every issue ranked by what it costs you, and yours to keep.
Step 01 · Setup
Tracking to the kept appointment
Call reporting, conversion settings, the practice software connection and the treatment campaigns, built once and checked against your real bookings. A fixed scope.
Step 02 · Ongoing
Week-to-week management
Bids, budgets, search terms, ad copy and landing pages reviewed weekly by treatment, with every change logged and the log yours to keep.
Dental SEO and Meta can be quoted alongside. Where the budget is too small for any management fee to earn its keep, you will hear that from us on the call.

Proof, with the working shown
We'd rather show you the maths than the buzzwords.
“Profit Geeks rebuilt our whole sales engine, and not just the ad accounts. They went after the systems sitting behind them too. Sales are up 140% and we've pushed past $25M. Honestly the bit I didn't see coming was the operation running leaner than it did back when we were half the size.”
“We were quietly bleeding about a thousand dollars a week and had no idea why. They found the leaks, sorted out the measurement and the offer, and now we'll do more than $10K in a single day. Same product. Completely different business.”
“We went from scraping together two installs a week to running four crews and fifteen-plus jobs a week, north of $10M turnover. The clever bit was they tied the scaling to what we could actually deliver, so growth never broke the operation. Booked jobs, not vanity leads.”
“After iOS, our Meta numbers stopped matching the bank, and we'd basically been writing the gap off as “just tracking.” Profit Geeks rebuilt our measurement server-side and reconciled it straight back to the P&L. Turned out about $1.42M of ad spend in year one had been working all along. They're the first team that showed me the maths instead of a dashboard.”
“We didn’t spend a dollar more on ads. What they did was fix how we counted a booked job versus a platform “conversion,” cut the wasted spend, and by week twelve our blended ROAS had more than tripled. Revenue went from $4.8M to $9.1M. Same senior bloke on every call too. No juniors, no relay race.”
Reasonable questions
What you're probably thinking.
01
We've been burned by an agency before.
Most of our intake has. The difference is structural. A senior operator runs your account, not a junior hidden behind a dashboard, and you leave the first call with written findings you own even if we never work together. No relay race, no account manager translating between you and the people doing the work.
02
How do I know it'll actually work for my business?
You don't yet, and neither do we until we've seen your numbers. That's why the first step is a diagnostic, not a contract. We've documented this in DTC and home services (the case studies show the full working) and run the same playbook in professional services. If the maths isn't there for you, we'll tell you on the call.
03
What if there's nothing worth fixing?
Then you've spent thirty minutes and walked away with a second opinion that cost you nothing. We'd rather say no than take on an engagement we can't earn, so we turn away intake that isn't a fit. There's no pitch and no follow-up sales sequence.
04
What does it cost, and what am I signing up for?
A fixed fee for the measurement rebuild, then a fixed fee for ongoing management, both quoted in writing after the call. No per-channel markup and no percentage of your ad spend. The same senior operators handle measurement, media and margin, and scaling is tied to your contribution margin, so spend only climbs when the numbers say it's working.
Frequently asked
Questions about dental Google Ads.
How do you advertise your dental practice?
Match each channel to the treatment and to where patients already search. The map results for 'dentist near me' run on the Google Business Profile and genuine reviews. Google Ads earns its place on high-value treatments such as implants, aligners and veneers, where a single new patient covers a lot of clicks. Dental SEO answers what people research before they book, and Meta can work for cosmetic treatments where images matter, inside Ahpra's image rules. In every channel: no testimonials, and the terms of any offer stated.
How much does dental marketing cost?
You pay for two things: the clicks, and whoever manages them. On the click side, Keyword Planner shows top-of-page bids of $5 to $17 for 'dentist near me' and $5 to $21 for 'dental implants' (October 2026). Management in Australia usually runs at 10 to 20 percent of ad spend, or a flat retainer of about $1,500 to $3,000 a month for a small account and $3,000 to $8,000 for a mid-sized one. Ours is a fixed fee for the agreed scope, set after the free audit call.
What Google Ads agencies chargeIs $20 a day good for Google Ads?
For one well-chosen treatment in a handful of suburbs it can be a start; for a whole practice it is thin. $20 a day averages about $608 a month, because Google can spend up to twice the daily budget on a busy day but no more than 30.4 times it across a month. At Keyword Planner's top-of-page bids for 'dental implants' ($5 to $21), that buys roughly 28 to 120 clicks a month: enough to learn something about one treatment, not enough to run five.
What does a click cost for each dental treatment?
From our October 2026 Keyword Planner pull for Australia, showing the top-of-page bid range and then monthly searches: dentist near me $5 to $17 (135,000); invisalign $3 to $12 (27,100); teeth whitening $3 to $10 (22,200); veneers $4 to $15 (18,100); braces $3 to $15 (14,800); dental implants $5 to $21 (9,900); cosmetic dentist $6 to $25 (3,600); all on 4 dental implants $7 to $30 (2,900); clear aligners $4 to $15 (2,900); kids dentist $4 to $12 (2,900); dental check up $4 to $16 (1,900); dentist open sunday $4 to $16 (1,000). Keyword Planner returned no data for some treatment searches, including 'emergency dentist', 'root canal' and 'wisdom teeth removal', so those campaigns are sized from your own search terms report.
Do implant clicks cost more in some cities?
Yes. With a city in the search, Keyword Planner's top-of-page bids for dental implants run $10 to $45 in Perth, $8 to $34 in Sydney, $7 to $29 in Brisbane, $9 to $29 in Melbourne and $5 to $16 in Adelaide (October 2026), against $5 to $21 for 'dental implants' on its own. Someone who types the city is usually comparing practices nearby, which is why we draw implant campaigns around real patient postcodes rather than a whole metro area.
Can we advertise for 'orthodontist' searches if we are general dentists?
Be careful how you do it. The ad, and the page it leads to, must not present a general dentist as an orthodontist: 'orthodontist' is a protected specialist title on the Dental Board's list, and Ahpra reads 'specialist', 'specialises in' and similar words as implying specialist registration. The demand is real, at 18,100 searches a month for 'orthodontist' (Keyword Planner, October 2026), and 'paediatric dentist' is protected in the same way. If you advertise on those searches, describe what you actually offer, such as clear aligner treatment by a general dentist.
Specialist titles and Ahpra's rulesCan we use reviews or star ratings in dental ads?
Not if they talk about treatment. Section 133 of the National Law bans testimonials in health advertising, and Ahpra treats a review as a testimonial when it mentions a symptom, the treatment or the outcome. A comment that only praises the parking or the front desk is not a testimonial. Because the line is easy to cross, we keep patient reviews out of dental ads and landing pages and let them sit on the review platforms where patients posted them.
Does Ahpra approve dental ads before they run?
No. Ahpra and the National Boards say they cannot give an opinion on advertising or pre-approve it. The advertiser is responsible, and Ahpra's guidelines define the advertiser as whoever controls the content, including when they direct a marketing agency to draft it. So the practice remains responsible for what we write on its behalf, which is why every ad is signed off by the practice and checked against Ahpra's testimonial and titles guidance first.
What does dental PPC management include?
Week to week, dental PPC management means reading the search terms each treatment campaign paid for and excluding the wrong ones, moving budget toward the treatments with the lowest cost per kept appointment, checking calls that went unanswered, refreshing ad copy through the practice's sign-off, and importing bookings from the practice software so Google learns from them. Each month it means a report by treatment that a principal dentist can act on.

What you actually buy
We fix the measurement, then we run the account. It starts with a free call.
Which of these sounds like your week?
- Meta says one number, Google says another, the CRM says a third, and the bank says something else again.
- The leads come in and most of them are rubbish.
- Traffic is fine. Not enough of them buy.
- You cannot spend more without losing margin.
- Something is wrong and you cannot say what.
All five are the same job. We fix the measurement first, then the same senior operators run the spend against it. The free call is where we work out which part you need first.

The profit audit call
A senior operator looks at your real spend, revenue and attribution gap on a call. You leave with a written fix list you keep, whether or not we ever work together. No deck, no follow-up sales sequence. We reply within one business day with three times to choose from.
02 · Optional · Two weeks
The two-week diagnostic
Read-only. We change nothing in your accounts. Every tag, event and consent rule mapped and written up: 20 to 35 pages, every issue rated P0 to P3 with an engineering-day estimate, and a 90-minute walk-through on day twelve. Yours to hand to us, your own team, or your existing agency. About a third of clients run this first, then decide.
03 · The engagement · Ongoing
The rebuild, then we run it
The first twelve weeks rebuild the measurement server-side so the reports reconcile to the bank, and work the funnel where the leak actually is. From there the same senior operators keep running Google Ads, Meta and search, with budget, bids and creative decided weekly against contribution margin and the reasoning written down. If your measurement is already sound, management starts straight away.
What it costs
Four things set the number
- The size of your stack
- How many ad platforms are live
- The state of your CRM integration
- How many service lines and locations you run
Two things do not
- Your industry
- How much you spend on ads
Revenue only matters because a bigger business is usually a bigger scope. We do not price off a percentage of it. We charge for the work, not for what you look like you can afford.
How it is billedThe rebuild is fixed scope, paid in instalments. Ongoing management is a fixed fee for the agreed scope. Both are quoted in one written proposal after the call. No hourly billing and no percentage of ad spend.
Included at no extra costThe written playbook and decision log, yours to keep whether we run the account or your team takes it in-house.
What happens after you book
Three steps. No mystery.
Step 01 · Within 1 business day
30-minute audit call
A senior operator on the call. We look at your real numbers, spend, revenue, attribution gap, and tell you on the call whether the rebuild is worth doing for you and where it would start. No pitch deck.
Step 02 · Within 1 week
Written proposal
Fixed scope, fixed number, written up. The proposal names deliverables, timeline, the people involved, and the price. No hourly billing, no retainer drift.
Step 03 · Within 2 weeks
Engagement starts
Senior operators from day one. The measurement rebuild starts, we take over day-to-day buying on the channels we can measure, and the first working session lands. Inside two weeks of the call.
Next step
Bring last month's spend and the bookings it made.
Book a free 30-minute profit audit. Bring your Google Ads spend, the treatments you most want to fill the book with, and how bookings are recorded in your practice software. A senior operator will walk through what that spend bought and what each treatment can afford per click, and the findings, in writing, stay with you.
