Pest control marketing · Termite inspections, treatments and general pest · From $500K revenue

Pest control marketing that is ready before the season turns.

Keyword Planner shows 27,100 Australian searches for 'pest control' in January 2026 and 12,100 in June, while 'termite inspection' peaked at 9,900 in March. Demand that swings that far rewards whoever is ready before it arrives. We plan your Google Ads, SEO and Google Business Profile around those curves, connect ServiceM8, simPRO or Tradify so booked inspections flow back to Google, and run it all week to week against the jobs that actually book.

How we run marketing for pest control businesses

Four principles for a pest control business that runs on the seasons.

  1. Principle 01

Budget to the curve, not the calendar

General pest demand more than halves over the year. Keyword Planner's monthly estimates show 'pest control' at 27,100 searches in January 2026 and 12,100 in June and July, with 'pest control near me' falling from 22,200 to 9,900 over the same stretch. A budget split evenly across twelve months overspends in winter and runs dry in summer. We set spend month by month from those curves, your own booking history and the number of technicians you have on the road.

  2. Principle 02

Termite work is its own sale

A termite inspection is a site visit, a written report and often a treatment quote, while a general pest booking can be settled in one call. The searches move differently too: 'termite inspection' peaked at 9,900 in March 2026 and 'termite treatment' at 6,600 in September 2025, out of step with general pest. Termite inspections, treatments and barriers get their own pages, ad groups and budget, judged on booked inspections and accepted treatment quotes rather than on calls.

  3. Principle 03

Count the inspection, then the treatment behind it

The inspection is the first booking, so it is the first conversion Google Ads learns from. The treatment it leads to, and that treatment's value, follow from your job software when the quote is accepted. Google Ads accepts imported conversions up to 90 days after the click, so a treatment booked weeks after the first call still lands on the search that started it, and the bidding learns which searches bring treatments, not just inspections.

  4. Principle 04

The second visit costs nothing in clicks

Repeat work is where pest control margin builds. Industry body AEPMA's notes on the termite standard AS 3660.2 say regular termite inspections should be no more than 12 months apart, which makes every inspection customer a reminder waiting to be sent. Recurring jobs or service reminders in your job software, a review request after every visit, and a page that explains annual inspections bring back customers you have already paid to win once.

Deliverables

What we set up and run for a pest control business.

  • 01

A pest control website, if yours is not booking work: a page each for termite inspections, termite treatments and barriers, general pest, rodents and pre-purchase pest inspections, suburb pages where you service, click-to-call and an inspection booking form. From kickoff to a live site takes two to three weeks; after that, a monthly care plan keeps it hosted, updated and changed as you need.

  • 02

Call tracking on every advertised number and forms tagged by service, so a termite enquiry and a cockroach call are never counted as the same thing.

  • 03

ServiceM8, simPRO, Tradify, AroFlo or Fergus connected to Google Ads and Meta, with booked inspections, accepted treatment quotes and their values sent back as offline conversions.

  • 04

A Google Business Profile set up for a pest control business: the right primary category, every treatment listed as a service, up to 20 service areas within about two hours' drive of your base as Google's rules allow, and photos from real jobs.

  • 05

Google Ads, Meta, Google Business Profile and SEO managed week to week, with termite and general pest on separate budgets and monthly spend moved with the season and your technicians' capacity.

  • 06

A monthly report of cost per booked inspection, the share of inspections that become treatments, and repeat bookings, by channel and reconciled to your job software.

Who this is for

  • Australian pest control business with revenue of $500K or more
  • Spending $1,500 a month or more across Google Ads, Meta, hipages or bought leads
  • Booking through ServiceM8, simPRO, Tradify, AroFlo, Fergus or similar
  • Want more termite inspections and treatments, not just one-off sprays

Who it isn't

  • Want the same budget every month, whatever demand is doing
  • Already turning work away in summer, with no technicians to add
  • Want enquiries for treatments your technicians are not licensed to carry out
  • Want a guaranteed number of leads, in winter as well as summer

How we work with pest control businesses

Start with the piece your season needs.

There is no rate card. After the free audit call you get one written quote for the pieces you need. The tracking setup and ongoing management are each a fixed fee for the agreed scope, never a share of your ad spend, so a bigger summer budget does not mean a bigger fee. If you would like an outside look first, the two-week diagnostic is read-only and the report is yours.

01 · Website

A pest control website that books inspections

Pages for termite inspections, treatments, general pest and pre-purchase inspections, suburb pages, click-to-call, tracked numbers and a booking form. A live site in two to three weeks, then hosting, updates and small changes on a monthly care plan.

02 · Setup

Tracking from inspection to treatment

Every number tracked, your job software sending booked inspections and accepted treatment quotes to Google Ads, and the Google Business Profile put right. Skipped if your tracking already works.

03 · Ongoing

Ongoing management, season by season

Every week, senior operators adjust your Google Ads, Meta, Business Profile and SEO, raising and lowering spend with demand and your crew's capacity. Every decision is logged with its reasoning, and the playbook is yours.

If your spend is too small for our fee to pay its way through a quiet winter, we will tell you on the call.

Proof, with the working shown

We'd rather show you the maths than the buzzwords.

“Profit Geeks rebuilt our whole sales engine, and not just the ad accounts. They went after the systems sitting behind them too. Sales are up 140% and we've pushed past $25M. Honestly the bit I didn't see coming was the operation running leaner than it did back when we were half the size.”

“We were quietly bleeding about a thousand dollars a week and had no idea why. They found the leaks, sorted out the measurement and the offer, and now we'll do more than $10K in a single day. Same product. Completely different business.”
Founder, oral care brand−$1K/week → $10K+/day
“We went from scraping together two installs a week to running four crews and fifteen-plus jobs a week, north of $10M turnover. The clever bit was they tied the scaling to what we could actually deliver, so growth never broke the operation. Booked jobs, not vanity leads.”

“After iOS, our Meta numbers stopped matching the bank, and we'd basically been writing the gap off as “just tracking.” Profit Geeks rebuilt our measurement server-side and reconciled it straight back to the P&L. Turned out about $1.42M of ad spend in year one had been working all along. They're the first team that showed me the maths instead of a dashboard.”

“We didn’t spend a dollar more on ads. What they did was fix how we counted a booked job versus a platform “conversion,” cut the wasted spend, and by week twelve our blended ROAS had more than tripled. Revenue went from $4.8M to $9.1M. Same senior bloke on every call too. No juniors, no relay race.”

Reasonable questions

What you're probably thinking.

01

We've been burned by an agency before.

Most of our intake has. The difference is structural. A senior operator runs your account, not a junior hidden behind a dashboard, and you leave the first call with written findings you own even if we never work together. No relay race, no account manager translating between you and the people doing the work.

02

How do I know it'll actually work for my business?

You don't yet, and neither do we until we've seen your numbers. That's why the first step is a diagnostic, not a contract. We've documented this in DTC and home services (the case studies show the full working) and run the same playbook in professional services. If the maths isn't there for you, we'll tell you on the call.

03

What if there's nothing worth fixing?

Then you've spent thirty minutes and walked away with a second opinion that cost you nothing. We'd rather say no than take on an engagement we can't earn, so we turn away intake that isn't a fit. There's no pitch and no follow-up sales sequence.

04

What does it cost, and what am I signing up for?

A fixed fee for the tracking set-up, then a fixed fee for ongoing management, both quoted in writing after the call. No per-channel markup and no percentage of your ad spend. If your spend is too small for the fee to pay for itself, we will say so on the call. Budgets only climb when booked jobs show the extra spend is paying.

Frequently asked

Nine questions about pest control marketing.

How do you market a pest control business?

Around the season and around the job. Be visible on Google search and Maps when people find a problem, because that is when they go looking for help: Keyword Planner shows 18,100 searches a month for 'pest control' and 14,800 for 'pest control near me' in Australia (October 2026). Give termite inspections their own pages and budget, since they lead to the biggest jobs. Keep your Google Business Profile full of real photos and reviews. Set budgets from the monthly demand curve rather than evenly. And turn every first visit into a reminder for the next one, which is the cheapest booking you will get.

How do I get more pest control customers?

Look in three places, cheapest first. Past customers: an annual inspection reminder and a follow-up after a treatment bring back people who already trust you, at no click cost. Then your Google Business Profile, where reviews, photos and the right categories decide whether you appear in the map for searches near you. Then paid search, aimed at the treatments you want more of in the suburbs closest to you, during the hours someone answers. Judge each one on cost per booked job from your job software, not on the number of calls.

Is $10 a day enough for Google Ads?

For termite work, barely. At $10 a day, a month of ads costs about $300, and Keyword Planner shows top-of-page bids of $7 to $30 a click for 'termite inspection' in Australia (October 2026). That buys roughly 10 to 42 clicks, and only some of them will ring. Google's guidance for Target CPA bidding is about 30 conversions in 30 days per campaign, and a month of termite clicks at that budget will not come close. The season makes it harder still: January's general pest searches were more than double June's, so a flat $10 is thin in summer and wasted in winter. If it is all you have, spend it on one service in your closest suburbs, in the months demand peaks.

When should a pest control business spend more on ads?

When the searches climb and you have technicians free. In Keyword Planner's monthly estimates for the year to August 2026, general pest searches ran at their highest from September to March and peaked in January, termite inspection searches peaked in February and March, and termite treatment searches peaked in September. Lift budgets a few weeks before your own busy period starts, so the account is already learning when demand arrives, and ease off general pest through winter. Your booking history by month is the best guide for your area; the national curve is the second opinion.

Which pest control searches are worth paying for?

The ones that lead to work you want, in areas you cover. Here are the main searches, with Keyword Planner's monthly volumes and top-of-page bids for Australia (October 2026): pest control 18,100 at $7 to $22 a click, pest control near me 14,800 at $7 to $23, termite inspection 5,400 at $7 to $30, termite treatment 4,400 at $5 to $28, and pest inspection 1,300 at $6 to $24. Advertisers bid more for the termite searches, a sign of what those jobs are worth to them. The 'near me' searches also bring map results, which your Google Business Profile wins or loses, so paid and local work together.

Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for pest control?

Not for the infestation happening tonight: people search for help, they do not wait to be shown an ad. Meta earns its place earlier and later in the year. Before the busy months, it can remind homeowners nearby that a termite inspection is due, and it can bring back past customers and people who looked at your inspection page without booking. Because Meta needs about 50 optimisation events per ad set each week to finish learning, a booking request is a better thing to optimise for than a finished treatment. Judge it on cost per booked inspection, the same as Google.

Should a pest control business use hipages or Airtasker?

Possibly, to fill gaps, but price it properly. hipages charges a monthly subscription that comes with credits you spend to accept leads, and Airtasker takes a percentage of each task you win, so the two cost you at different moments. Tag every marketplace job in your job software, add up what each platform cost you over three months, and divide by the jobs that booked. If that cost per booked job beats your Google Ads, keep it. If it does not, the money is better spent on the searches above.

What hipages, Airtasker and ServiceSeeking charge

Do you build pest control websites?

Yes. A pest control website from us has a page for each treatment you sell, with termite inspections and barriers given the space they deserve, suburb pages for where you work, click-to-call, tracked numbers and a booking form that asks the property type and the pest. Calls and forms are measured from launch day. It is quoted after a free call, built in two to three weeks, and looked after on a monthly care plan.

How we build tradie websites

How much does pest control marketing cost?

Australian agencies usually charge for Google Ads management either as a percentage of spend, commonly 10 to 20 percent and lower as spend grows, or as a flat retainer of about $1,500 to $3,000 a month for a small account. We do neither: you get a fixed fee for an agreed scope, covering the tracking setup unless yours already works, then ongoing management of your ads, Google Business Profile and SEO, all quoted in writing after the free audit call. If the fee would not pay for itself through the quiet months, we will say so.

How much a Google Ads agency costs in Australia

What you actually buy

We connect the tracking, then we run the account. It starts with a free call.

Which of these sounds like your week?

  • Meta says one number, Google says another, the CRM says a third, and the bank says something else again.
  • The leads come in and most of them are rubbish.
  • Traffic is fine. Not enough of them buy.
  • You cannot spend more without losing margin.
  • Something is wrong and you cannot say what.

All five come back to the same gap: nobody can say which job came from which dollar. We close that first, then the same senior operators run the spend against booked jobs. The free call is where we work out what your business needs first.

00 · Free

Run your own numbers

Six calculators and an attribution reference. Work out your break-even ROAS, your CAC payback, and whether the spend is structurally profitable, before you talk to anyone. The calculators need no signup.

01 · Free · 30 minutes

The profit audit call

A senior operator looks at your real spend, revenue and attribution gap on a call. You leave with a written fix list you keep, whether or not we ever work together. No deck, no follow-up sales sequence. We reply within one business day with three times to choose from.

02 · Optional · Two weeks

The two-week diagnostic

Read-only. We change nothing in your accounts. Every tag, event and consent rule mapped and written up: 20 to 35 pages, every issue rated P0 to P3 with an engineering-day estimate, and a 90-minute walk-through on day twelve. Yours to hand to us, your own team, or your existing agency. About a third of clients run this first, then decide.

03 · The engagement · Ongoing

The tracking set-up, then we run it

First the phones, the forms and your job software get connected to Google Ads and Meta, so every booked job traces back to the search, ad or page that produced it. From there the same senior operators run Google Ads, Meta, your Google Business Profile and SEO week to week, with budgets decided against booked jobs and the reasoning written down. The scope and timing of the set-up are in the written proposal.

What it costs

Four things set the number

  • The size of your stack
  • How many ad platforms are live
  • The state of your CRM integration
  • How many service lines and locations you run

Two things do not

  • Your industry
  • How much you spend on ads

Revenue only matters because a bigger business is usually a bigger scope. We do not price off a percentage of it. We charge for the work, not for what you look like you can afford.

How it is billedThe set-up is fixed scope. Ongoing management is a fixed fee for the agreed scope. Both are quoted in one written proposal after the call. No hourly billing and no percentage of ad spend.

Included at no extra costThe decision log and the tracking set-up, yours to keep whether we run the account or you take it back in-house.

What happens after you book

Three steps. No mystery.

  1. Step 01 · Within 1 business day

    30-minute audit call

A senior operator on the call. We look at your real numbers, spend, revenue, attribution gap, and tell you on the call whether the rebuild is worth doing for you and where it would start. No pitch deck.

  2. Step 02 · Within 1 week

    Written proposal

Fixed scope, fixed number, written up. The proposal names deliverables, timeline, the people involved, and the price. No hourly billing, no retainer drift.

  3. Step 03 · Within 2 weeks

    Engagement starts

Senior operators from day one. The measurement rebuild starts, we take over day-to-day buying on the channels we can measure, and the first working session lands. Inside two weeks of the call.

Next step

Booked inspections in the busy months. A plan for the quiet ones.

If summer swamps the phones and winter goes quiet, book a free 30-minute profit audit. Bring twelve months of booked jobs by month if your software has them, your ad spend over the same months, and the split between termite and general pest work. We will set out in writing how we would budget the year and what we would change first.
